Homework and Social Studies April 27-May1

Good Morning!

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, students might have homework this weekend.  Today we are working on a brochure for Pompeii.  If students do not finish this assignment in class, it will be homework.  It is an I-Assignment, so the assignment will be considered an I until completed and turned in.  Directions, a brochure template and a rubric can be found in the Important Documents link.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Next week, we will still be focusing on Ancient Rome.   Students will be learning about education, roman numerals, architecture, the Coliseum and religion of Ancient Rome.  The test for this unit will be next Friday, May 1st.  A study guide and notes can be found by clicking on the Important Documents link found on my blog page.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you,

Ms. Golubski

Bus Drivers Needed

Attention Parents:

We are experiencing exciting times in the way of expansion in student activities and athletics at Clever Schools.  If you haven’t been by to see our newly expanded sports complex on the High School campus, you need to check it out!  However as we experience this growth, we have growing pains in the area of transportation.  We are in desperate need of bus drivers to transport students to away games, competitions, etc.  If you have any interest in driving a bus, an application can be found online at the following link or can be picked up in the Central Office.  For more information contact John Cackley at 417-221-7812.

Camp Wakonda

Our YMCA after school site coordinator has extended an opportunity for students currently enrolled in 2nd through 8th grade to attend Camp Wakonda for FREE!!!
Selected participants will receive a voucher to be redeemed for a one week session at YMCA Camp Wakonda for the summer of 2015.  There are multiple camp options to choose during the months of June and July.  The value of camp ranges from $265 to $460 and the voucher must be redeemed by June 1, 2015.

All interested students need to submit a one page essay explaining why they should be selected.  Our criteria for selection is simply to select 3 students “with financial need who would greatly benefit from a week of camp”.  All essays are due back in the office by May 11th and recipients will be notified by May 15th.
