Social Studies February 29-March 4

Good afternoon!

Next week, we will be focusing on the Aztec Social Class and the Inca culture.  Students will be completing a project on the Incas.  If students have not finished their poster over the Aztecs and Mayans, they can work on it this weekend.  Information on that project can be found by clicking the link to my Google Classroom.  Our next test is scheduled for March 7th.  A study guide and notes can be found by clicking the Important Documents link.

If students would like to make up assignments, they can come in tomorrow morning from 7:00-11:00 for Saturday School.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.  Have a great weekend!

Mayan Vs. Aztec Poster

Good Afternoon!

Today, we started working on a poster that compares the Mayans and Aztecs using Government, Farming, and Religion.  Students can work on this at home.  I am putting the link to my Google Classroom in this post and a link for the directions as well.  I am also adding a link to Google Drive.  Students can log on and access their projects by clicking the classroom folder and then the 6th grade folder. Social Studies February 22-26

Good afternoon!

Next week, we will finish up learning about the Mayans and move on to the Aztecs.  When focusing on the Aztecs, we will will learn about their religion, culture, government, accomplishments and how the civilization came to an end.  Students will have a project they will start on Tuesday over the Aztecs.  Information on that can be found by clicking my Important Documents link or the link for my Google Classroom.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Social Studies February 16-19

Good Afternoon!

Next week, we will be focusing on the Mayans and Aztecs of Mexico.  Students are workingon  newspapers about the Mayans and will research about the Aztecs starting at the end of the week.  I am really impressed with the students' work thus far.  On Tuesday, the students will have their map I-assignment over the Americas.  A blank copy and one with answers can be found by clicking the following link, Ancient Americas.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Social Studies February 8-12

Good Evening!

This week we will be focusing on the Mayan Civilization of Mexico.  Students will be working on stations tomorrow and researching the Mayan civilization on Wednesday and Thursday.  I am so excited to announce, as I'm sure some of the students have told, we have Chromebook Flips in the classroom now!  The students are really enjoying them.  We also have a Google Classroom up and running.  Ask your students to show it to you!   Next Tuesday, the students will have a Map I-Assignment over the Americas.  A blank copy and answer key can be found by clicking the following link, Ancient Americas.  I hope everyone has a great week!
